We generally recommend long-term feeding for most DOG FIT by PreThis® products, especially for dogs with special needs or in advanced age. Continuous supplementation with micronutrients can make an important contribution to supporting the normal function of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system – especially in dogs with increased stress or age-related changes.

Exception: VITAL gastro

For short-term challenges such as temporary soft or watery stools, we recommend initially supplementing with VITAL gastro for about 5 days. The feeding recommendation is based exclusively on the acute phase.

JOINTS elements is a high-quality supplementary feed with natural micronutrients developed to support the normal function of joints and the musculoskeletal system. The nutrients it contains – also known as joint nutrients – are carefully balanced and are especially recommended for dogs with increased demands on mobility, coordination, and stability.

The recipe can contribute to the normal supply of cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and fascia – especially in active dogs or those with special challenges in the musculoskeletal system. Many pet owners also use JOINTS elements as part of a conscious feeding strategy as part of a holistic preventative care concept.

Due to its high level of acceptance and tolerance, JOINTS elements is particularly suitable for sensitive dogs. It is available in three weight classes (small, medium, large) and can therefore be dosed according to needs.

Depending on the goal and individual situation, JOINTS elements can be effectively combined with DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B – e.g., to support the nervous system.

Feeding recommendation DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS elements

JOINTS elements is available in small, medium and large sizes and has been specially developed for the dog's body weight. The recommended dosage is as follows:

• Dogs up to 10 kg: one capsule of JOINTS elements small per day
• Dogs from 10 kg to 25 kg: one capsule of JOINTS elements medium per day
• Dogs weighing 25 kg or more: one capsule of JOINTS elements large per day

For dogs weighing 50 kg or more, it is recommended to administer two capsules of JOINTS elements large per day.

For prophylactic administration to small dogs:

• Dogs up to approx. 2 kg: one capsule of JOINTS elements small every 2 days
• Dogs from 2.5 to 3.5 kg: skip one day per week, on the remaining days one capsule of JOINTS elements small per day
• Dogs from 3.5 to 10 kg: one capsule of JOINTS elements small per day

It is recommended for joint diseases such as arthrosis:

• Dogs up to approx. 2 kg: skip one day per week, on the remaining days one capsule of JOINTS elements small per day
• Dogs from 2 kg: one capsule of JOINTS elements small per day

For hygienic reasons, the capsules should preferably be mixed in with the food or hidden in a treat. However, if the dog does not want to or cannot swallow them, the capsule can be pulled apart so that the contents can be mixed into the food or given together with some yoghurt, cottage cheese or liver sausage. As the capsules often consist of additional collagen, we recommend soaking them in water and mixing them into the food, especially with our joint preparations.

Our products should be fed once a day. It does not matter whether this is in the morning or evening, together or separately. However, it is important to follow the dosage recommendation and give the product regularly.

By dividing the food into small, medium and large sizes, dogs can be given the right amount of nutrients to ensure optimal utilization. This prevents dogs from getting either too little or too much of certain nutrients, which can potentially lead to deficiencies or overdoses. A needs-based dosage is important for the health and well-being of the dog.

High-dose food supplements can be pointless in certain circumstances. On the one hand, they can be superfluous in a balanced and healthy diet, as the dog already receives all the necessary nutrients from the food. On the other hand, excessive doses of certain nutrients can even be harmful to the dog.

Another important factor is that the effect of high-dose food supplements has not been scientifically proven and is often only based on advertising claims and the subjective experiences of owners.

The onset of effect depends on the type and severity of the underlying disease. It usually takes at least 6 weeks before the first positive effects can be noticed, possibly a little longer. Please be patient, as natural products need time to take effect.

One bag contains 60 capsules and is sufficient for up to 2 months or longer, depending on the weight of the dog. It is similar with powder products, please refer to the product under contents and dosage.

• JOINTS is developed for the dog's body weight and is optimally dosed for dogs up to 10 kg (small), 10 kg - 25 kg (medium), and from 25 kg (large).
• Depending on their body weight, dogs receive 1 capsule of DOG FIT JOINTS small, medium, or large per day.
• Very small dogs up to 2 kg should take 1 capsule small every 2 days, and dogs from 2.5 to 3.5 kg should skip 1 day per week. The capsule can also be opened to mix the contents into the food.
• Very large dogs 50 kg and over: 2 large capsules daily.

The capsules are designed to be taken flexibly to optimally meet the needs of dogs. The ideal way to do this is to mix the capsules in their closed form directly with the food or hide them in a treat. This is the most hygienic and uncomplicated method.

If the dog has difficulty swallowing the capsules, they can be carefully opened to mix the contents directly into the food or combine them with tasty treats such as yogurt, cottage cheese, or liver sausage.

We particularly recommend feeding the capsules with joint products such as JOINTS, JOINTS elements, or JOINTS greenshell, where the capsules are made of collagen. After the contents have been mixed with the food, they can be softened in a little water before being mixed with the food.

Your dog is initially hesitant to eat food with DOG FIT. In such cases, we recommend the following steps:

• Reduce the amount: If your dog does not accept powder or granular preparations, start with a smaller amount and gradually increase it. Some dogs need some time to get used to the new taste.
  With capsule preparations, it is usually enough to open them and mix the contents with the food. This is not a problem and does not affect the effectiveness, as many ingredients require pre-digestion in the stomach in order to be fully metabolized in the intestines. Since the capsules often consist of additional collagen, it is particularly recommended for our joint preparations to soften them in water and mix them with the food. For very small dogs, we recommend this approach either way - unfortunately there are no mini capsules.

• Mix it with treats: You can also combine the DOG FIT preparations with treats to make the taste more pleasant for your dog. Popular options include liver sausage, cottage cheese and similar snacks.

By following these steps, you can help your dog get used to the supplement while benefiting from the health benefits that DOG FIT offers. Remember, patience is key.

Gelantine capsules consist of additional collagen and cellulose capsules are an additional dietary fibre. We use a vegan rice extract as a filler, which is not possible with tablets, which is why many other manufacturers use magnesium stearate, for example. Furthermore, an exact dosage is guaranteed by the precisely defined amount of active ingredient contained;

The capsules are preferably fed hidden in a treat or mixed in with the food. If the dog does not accept the capsule, it can simply be opened and the contents mixed into the food.
